Summer Strings Camps Announced

CLASSES AND CAMPS FOR STRINGS CINCINNATI MUSIC ACADEMY

SUMMER 2017

Wednesdays June-August: Pre-Twinkle Group Class

This course is designed for Suzuki Pre-Twinkle violin and is an excellent jump start to the CMA Suzuki Strings program that begins in September. This course will introduce students to their teacher and peers to help them gain momentum and motivation before the start of the 2017-2018 program year. This course is also for returning Pre-Twinkle- Lightly Row students who want to maintain their playing skills, continue reviewing material, and have a fun musical group experience. Activities will include singing, active listening, basic note reading, and, of course, playing the violin!

Teacher: Elaine Wisniewski
Level: Pre-Twinkle through Lightly Row (Ages 3-7)
Dates & Times: Every Wednesday June 7th through August 16th (Except July 5th) 5:00-5:30pm
Tuition: $130 ($120 if registered by May 21st), payable to Elaine Wisniewski

Wednesdays June-August: Book 1 Group Class

This course is designed for returning Suzuki Book 1 violin students. We will focus on maintaining posture, bow holds, and other violin techniques while playing our pieces. Activities will include reviewing pieces, “nugget” practice, singing, active listening, note reading, and, of course, playing the violin! Come get new ideas and participate in the challenges each week where standing on one foot while playing is just one of the ways we can practice!

Dates & Times: Every Wednesday June 7th through August 16th (Except July 5th) 5:30-6:00pm
Tuition: $130 ($120 if registered by May 21st), payable to Elaine Wisniewski

June 26th- June 30th: Orchestra Camp

Enroll now for Orchestra Camp at the Cincinnati Music Academy! Students will learn a fun and musically enriching variety of music from classical to popular. There will be daily rehearsals, plus students will help produce the concert – from researching the repertoire to creating the programs. The camp culminates in a public lunchtime concert on Friday June 30 at noon. This camp is a great way for students to develop ensemble skills, note-reading and musicianship in a fun and supportive environment.

Level: Suzuki Book 2 and above, proficient in note reading
Dates and times: June 26 – June 30, 9 a.m. – noon (Plus a concert Friday 6/30 at 12pm)
Tuition: $180 ($10 discount if registered by May 21), payable to Greg Noland
