Rae Jean works hard every day to awaken the music within each person that she meets—striving so that every student or performer can become a better person each day.
In addition to private teaching, Rae Jean has extensive experience as a music director in public school, church, and theater/musical theater programs. She helped lead South Ripley (Versailles, IN) middle and high school choir and band students to top honors at Indiana Music Educator Association state and regional competitions. She also worked with many theater productions and training programs, including the Stage Door Manor performing arts camp in New York as a musical director and pianist.
Ms. Auterson has a wealth of performance experience in the US and abroad as both a pianist and vocalist for theater productions, cruise lines, cabaret shows, vocal ensembles, and more. As a pianist, Rae Jean has worked professionally as a collaborative pianist and performer in classical, pop, and musical theater settings. Her piano training and skills have helped her lead a successful and versatile career in the arts as a performer and educator.
Ms. Auterson’s students have achieved great success personally and professionally. She has coached many individuals through successful auditions for university programs in the arts and theater/performance opportunities.
In her spare time, Rae Jean has a passion for cooking and loves to entertain and surprise people with her delicious dishes and desserts. She loves to read, think deeply, enjoy the beauty all around her (especially in nature), grow flowers, write poetry, quotes, and compose music. She also loves to spend time with her friends and family, but also appreciates the inner solitude of being alone. Most of all…Rae Jean LOVES to have fun! Laugh! Smile! Skip! Sing! And Play!..
