Lisa Dexter Fairfield is passionate about helping her students develop a genuine love for the piano. She offers traditional instruction incorporating theory, history, ear-training, and sight-reading to students of all ages and abilities, from beginning to advanced. Her students have the opportunity to perform in studio recitals and are actively encouraged to participate in additional events held throughout the year, including Masquerade Musicale, Auditions Festival, and the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program.

Lisa Dexter Fairfield
A California native, Mrs. Fairfield began her formal piano instruction at the age of six. She holds undergraduate degrees in piano performance, pedagogy, and nursing from Seattle Pacific University. She additionally holds a Master of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She made her way to the Midwest to pursue a Doctorate of Musical Arts in piano performance at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. During her tenure as a full scholarship student at CCM, she held a Graduate Teaching Assistant position, giving private and group instruction to music majors at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Mrs. Fairfield has been honored to receive numerous scholarships and awards, including the Music Teachers National Association StAR Award, given to outstanding music students who intend to teach professionally. She has been an active member of MTNA, serving as Vice-President of the University of Texas collegiate chapter, presenting at local and national conferences, and previously acting as chair of the Buckeye Auditions for the Southwest chapter of the Ohio MTA. She keeps current in her teaching by attending conferences and workshops.
Mrs. Fairfield’s two children study piano at CMA, which gives her the unique perspective of being both a piano parent and a teacher. When not at the piano, she enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time with her husband and children.
