Her greatest passion in life is helping her students find their personal connection with music, and teaching them to craft their own means of self-expression through their instrument.

Born in South Korea, Joy has a broad range of experience teaching beginners, as well as helping advancing students prepare for competitions and college auditions. Before moving to the United States, Joy taught in Korea, Germany, and Austria.

Joy has won multiple piano competitions, and has performed in Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and the United States. A collaborative pianist as well, she founded and is a member of the international piano ensemble “Y.us”.

She was the top performer in the piano department and piano trio department for four years. From there, she moved to Germany to continue her musical education at the Universität der Künste (UDK) Berlin. After a year, she moved to Mozarteum Universität Salzburg in Austria where she received her Master of Arts degree. She received scholarships from Mozarteum and was selected as a scholarship student by the Swiss International Scholarship Foundation “CLAVARTE”.
