Eric Wurzelbacher

Eric has been actively teaching saxphone, clarinet, and flute in private lessons and woodwind master classes since receiving his Music Education degree from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. In addition the teaching at CMA, Eric works with many regional school band programs. Eric frequently has students accepted to prestigious music colleges, honor and select bands, and receiving high ratings in competitions. Eric develops structured lesson plans for each student while also recognizing the importance of enjoying the process of learning. Eric accepts students of all skill levels and caters his lesson curricula accordingly.

During his time in college, he received awards such as the CCM Honors Scholarship and becoming one of 11 finalists in the U.S. Army’s National Collegiate Solo Competition. After graduating in May of 2015, he won a woodwind position with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and toured Europe for a number of months. Eric currently plays with various groups in Cincinnati and around the country as a freelance musician as well as his original projects as a bandleader. He has shared the stage with artists such as Fareed Haque (Garaj Majal), Marc Wilson, and John Labarbera. His discography includes a handful of albums as a sideman and two as a bandleader/writer: “Eco Quartet” (2017), “Power” (2018).
