Ally Oakes has been teaching violin and viola professionally since 2018. Ally has also worked with the New Horizons Orchestra since 2020 and has experience teaching general music and orchestra as a public school teacher. Ally teaches beginning to advanced level students and has experience teaching from age 5 all the way through students in their 90s. She has a bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM).

Ally Oakes
Ally has played the violin since 2007 in her school orchestra class, began private lessons in 2010, and began learning the viola in 2012. She enjoys playing chamber music and often utilizes duets in her teaching as she believes the ability to play with others is integral to any musician.
Ally is passionate about meeting students where they are and helping them gain the confidence and learn the skills they need to achieve their goals. Ally believes that making music should be a positive experience and works hard to help her students find joy in the process. She focuses heavily on healthy playing position and technique and believes that technique can be taught in a variety of genres. Ally frequently arranges music to cater to her students’ interests and the skills they are working on
