Student Publishes First Composition at Age 10

Music lives inside of Rhys Ceron; he races to the piano at every lesson and begins to improvise. It’s nearly impossible to get him to stop! The music that comes out is beautiful, expressive, and lyrical. This past summer, he learned how to notate one of his pieces with his piano teacher, Amy Immerman. Bells of Winter is his first published piece, and is already attracting attention. The piece earned Honorable Mention in the highly competitive composition competition sponsored by Ohio Music Teachers Association. This is the first of many pieces Rhys hopes to publish. In addition to piano, Rhys also studies cello.
