Julia Ferrer

With almost 10 years teaching experience, Julia has dedicated her career to sharing the gift of music with others. She believes music education is vital, as learning to master a musical instrument helps students mature on an intellectual, emotional and physical level, as they develop and learn to hone new skills and virtues. Mrs. Ferrer’s teaching style is challenging yet patient, helping each student reach their full potential through a carefully crafted curriculum that best meets their needs as well as a fun and positive learning environment.

Mrs.Ferrer began her formal music education at the Juan José Castro Conservatory and later at the Institute and Orchestra Academy of Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. During that time, she studied with José Araujo and Carlos Nozzi, amongst others. Mrs. Ferrer’s most recent degree is a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, under the guidance of internationally renowned cellist Amit Peled. She is an award-winning cellist, prized in the International Latin-American Cello Festival, and has received various scholarships, such as from the Argentine Mozarteum. Julia has participated in Masterclasses of Arto Noras, Gustav Rivinius, Ulf Prelle and Antonio Meneses, and also attended festivals such as the International Mendelssohn Festival and Sommerakademie Radolfzell (Germany), Prague PSN Festival (Prague & Czech Republic), International Academy Teatro del Lago (Chile) and YOA Orchestra of the Americas. An enthusiastic advocate of chamber music, she has performed in venues such as the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires & Rudolfinum in Prague as well as other major Concert Halls throughout North America, South America and Europe.
